New Year’s Resolution?
Many of us practice the New Year tradition of making a resolution to improve ourselves…dieting, stopping smoking, exercising. Why not make a resolution to get your GED credential? Studies show that adults with a high school graduate or GED certificate earn, on average, at least $7,000 per year more than someone who has no credential. Why wait? There is no time like the present to start working on your future.
Free GED Classes
GED Classes are offered for free throughout the West Piedmont region for adults 18 years of age and over who are not enrolled in public school. To find a class in your area, call us at 1-888-GED-4ALL (433-4255). You may also check your local program’s schedule on the resources page at http://www.westpiedmontadulted.com/ (Franklin County, Henry County, Martinsville, Patrick County, and Pittsylvania County).
Contact us if you live in another area and need help locating a class near you. We’ll help you find a program that’s convenient for you.
GED Test Registration
Adults 18 years of age and older who are not enrolled in public school may register to take the GED tests. Two forms of identity are required. One must be a valid government issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, state ID card); social security card or birth certificate are acceptable second ID’s. The test fee is $45 for first time test takers. Scholarships may be available to cover the test fee.
Registration is held at the adult education centers in each locality. Contact information:
